Gosford Way, Felixstowe

East Suffolk Council needed a brand new, multifunctional play area in Gosford Way, Felixstowe.

Designed in close collaboration with the council, the play area’s play value focus at the design stage presented local children of all ages and abilities with brilliant opportunities to develop childrens dexterity, physical and cognitive skills. 

The project was funded by East Suffolk Council, Felixstowe Town Council and Suffolk County Council.

An Omega swing was included for younger users (ages one to four), encouraging parent-child interaction during play, creating a positive bonding experience. On top of this, we added a Talk Tube, Springer and a Roty Rocker for play value diversity.

For older children, the Altitude 13s was chosen as a centrepiece as it instinctively appeals to all children with a sense of adventure, providing balancing and swinging challenges to get them moving.

In addition, a DNA climber, an NRG Giants Causeway, NRG Cheddar Gorge and a Gullwing Seesaw was chosen to offer different play values such as climbing, balancing and rocking throughout the play area.

The opening event for this play area was a huge success and the feedback was fantastic. The new play area has given children a breadth of new opportunities to get outside and play!
