Great Tey, Colchester
Introducing junior play area to Grey Tey
Great Tey were keen to update their small toddler playground by introducing new exciting dynamic equipment. The playground is surrounded by a large open space, and this provided inspiration for HAGS designers to create five 6 new playground features to compliment the area for juniors.
Diverse range of play equipment
- A Nexus multiplay unit – providing opportunities to climb, slide and traverse on multiple levels up to 3m.
- Inclusive trampoline
- Mantis Zipwire
- Orbit roundabout for up to 8 children
- Omega swings for all ages and abilities.
- Nexus Viper swing - The largest rope swing currently manufactured in the UK.
All this was installed onto a brand new all-weather rubber safety surfacing. The playground has doubled its play value options and increased its user capacity. Robert Frost, who is a Great Tey parish councillor and was at Saturday’s unveiling, explained the equipment had been chosen by youngsters at the nearby Great Tey Primary School. He said: “We got the pupils at Great Tey Primary School to draw designs for their ideal playground. “We made sure to talk to children, because we didn’t want old people saying, 'This is what children should have’.
