Harewood Junior School, Gloucestershire
More than just football at Harewood Junior School
HAGS recently worked with Harewood Junior School in Gloucestershire to enhance their outdoor sports facilities for both the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds.
Business Manager, Ania Fletcher, had seen Primary Arena on HAGS’ website and could see the benefits it would bring to the school.
Discussions were held around budget and use, and Games Area Configuration 1 was chosen as the best solution. The two ends would be split – one for the KS2 children in their playground and the other end for KS1. Suitable target panels were chosen to reflect the different age ranges.
By splitting the configuration, the school were able to provide facilities for both playgrounds within the limited budget.
Head Teacher, Andrea Mills, commented “Our intention was to encourage more active playtimes for all of our children and reduce their reliance on the traditional football game at playtime. Although football does still have a place in our playtimes, children are using the panels to create their own games.”
