Moors Playground
Bespoke Toddler Junior Unimix Unit
Despite the damp autumn weather, on Saturday 5th November many people came down to the Moor Play Park to officially mark its opening, following the recent refurbishment works funded by S106 monies. The event began with a welcome from Graham Clark, the chairman of the Parish Council, who thanked the Working Party, Parish Council, public, and HAGS for their contributions and work towards the project. It was noted how successful the public consultation had been thanks to a high level of public engagement.
The winners from the Moor Play Park Drawing Competition were awarded their certificates and untied the ribbon to officially open the park. Those in attendance were very impressed with all of the competition entries that were on display around the play park. One of the competition winners, William, was keen to try out the new blue swing chair so that he recreated his winning drawing. HAGS kindly provided 40 goody bags for the children at the opening event, which were all given out on the day.
Simon Carson, Regional Sales Manager at HAGS, also attended the event and spoke with local residents about the new park and its equipment. It was great to see a range of ages enjoying all the areas of the play park at the event with children exploring all the new items of equipment. Members of the public commented that it was clear that the consultation phase had shaped the final design of the park. To see so many people at the event was amazing and lots of people have been using the park since. The council hopes that this park will be well used and enjoyed for many generations.
