The Catholic School of St Gregory the Great, Cheltenham
The provision for outdoor learning for the EYFS children at The Catholic School of St Gregory the Great in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire has been hugely enhanced recently. The nursery children had no facility outside for physical development, sand and water play or mud-making. HAGS worked with Head of Nursery, Denise Arnold, to attain the educational outcomes required keeping within the school budget.
A Zambi UniMini multiplay unit was installed into blue and yellow wetpour. Zambi provides a multitude of play functions encouraging both physical activity and imaginative play, from the challenge of climbing over the swinging rope bridge to steering the ship’s wheel and interacting with others via the talk-tubes.
The playground has also been improved with the addition of a water wall, water play troughs, a “mud kitchen”, a hydraulic lid sandpit and some drawing play panels, stimulating the children’s imaginations and enhancing learning during outdoor lessons.
“Amazing! The children absolutely love it!” said Denise Arnold, Head of the Nursery at the school.
Denise added "The installation team were very professional and helpful. I felt that the Area Sales Manager, Melanie Blackham, gave us her full attention from the beginning to the end of the project and could not have done any more for us.”
